Ms. Melián’s prepares appraisals which are compliant with the Uniform Standards of Professional Appraisal Practice (USPAP) as per the Appraisal Foundation in Washington D.C.
During her fifteen years at Sotheby’s, Ms. Melián worked closely with Sotheby’s Appraisals Department on insurance, donation and estate tax projects for high net worth clients; insurance and indemnity projects for museums and other cultural institutions and insurance and donation valuations for corporations. This experience has been provided invaluable insights into the range and quality of works of art.
Carmen Melián is a certified member of the Appraisers Association of America with a specialization in Latin American Art.
